PIXEL REEL FAQ
Quick answers about the pixel art fishing game for iOS.
Is Pixel Reel free to play?
Yes. Pixel Reel is free on iPhone with optional in-app purchases and opt-in reward ads. Nothing in the collection is paywalled.
Is Pixel Reel an idle game or an active fishing game?
Both. Casting, reeling, Mob Fishing and Megalodon fights are fully active, while the Auto-Net earns offline and lagoon fishing pays passively while you chat.
Does Pixel Reel have multiplayer?
Yes — live lagoon servers where up to 20 players fish together with RuneScape-style overhead chat, visible pets and hiscore name tags.
How many fish are in Pixel Reel?
600 species across 24 locations, each with a rare Starry variant — 1,200 collectible forms in total, tracked in your fishdex.
What are Starry fish?
Night-sky variants of every species with 30x payouts. They only appear after you've caught the normal form, and mastered locations improve the odds.
What is Dee's Lost Rod?
A 1-in-36,000 relic rod: Megalodons reel themselves in, you get a 50% double hook chance, and all reeling is 15% faster. It also drops from lagoon boot-coins that land on their side.
Is Pixel Reel inspired by RuneScape?
Lovingly. The soundtrack, the hiscores, clue-scroll treasure hunts, pets and the lagoon chat are all a homage to Old School RuneScape's cozy grind.
When is the weekly tournament decided?
Each tournament runs Monday to Sunday with a rotating metric. Podium prizes scale with the playerbase's wealth and pay out on your next login.
